If you missed our original hiatus decision post, you can read it here. Tl;dr: Covid numbers were uncontrolled and we wanted our staff to stay at home. Find previous updates under the Covid-19 tag.
It’s time! As non-Covid facing health care support, all of us have received our first dose, and most have received our second. (You can see Massachusetts’ vaccination progress here.) Floating is firmly on the lower risk end of indoor activities. Now that we’re vaccinated, we’re safer, and with social distancing and solitude baked in, FLOAT is not likely to contribute to community spread. We will be re-evaluating our Covid Safety Plan in light of expanded knowledge, but we’re confident in our procedures.
We’ll be taking our first appointments on Thursday, April 15th at 9:00am, and open every day except Tuesday! Our online calendar is open now. We’ll be ramping up to our full schedule, which includes early morning 7am floats and Tuesday evenings, as soon as we can. Looking forward to a specific time? Let us know so we can prioritize.
Active members were sent an announcement email on Thursday, and we started calling folks Thursday afternoon. If you didn’t get an email or call, and you think you should have, please get in touch and we’ll figure things out. You can get news as it happens by following us on social media (we’re on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook), or consider signing up for our monthly newsletter. You can also email us at info@floatboston.com with any questions. Please keep in mind that our attention will be on the float tanks, and our phone will be voicemail-only until April 15th. You’re welcome to leave a message, or drop us an email, and one of us will get back to you.
Our calendar is open to everyone, and I encourage you to book a float now!
Stay healthy!
