You searched. Here's why people choose us.

Locally owned, not a franchise

Float Boston is independently owned by Mark, who floated every day for 30 days and tracked his own data. This isn't a corporate spa — it's a place someone actually cares about.

Beginner friendly by design

First-timers are our most common customers. Our staff walks you through everything before you go in. You will not feel lost, rushed, or pressured. Ever.

100% 5-star under new ownership

Since reopening in July 2025, every single Google review has been 5 stars. Not because we ask — because people leave wanting to come back.

What your first float actually feels like

01

The first 10 minutes

Your mind is still busy. Your body hasn't let go yet. This is normal. Everyone goes through it. Just breathe.

02

Then it shifts

Somewhere in the middle, something releases. Your body stops bracing. Your thoughts slow down. This is the float.

03

The way out

Soft music brings you back. Most people emerge calm, clear, and lighter than when they went in. It stays with you.

I have really been enjoying Float since they re-opened under new ownership. The cryo and massage chair are awesome additions to my self-care routine for neck and upper back pain. I always feel great afterwards — both mentally and physically.

It is even better than before. I was greeted by Christy who gave me a refresher on how it all works. Clean, easy to enter and exit. I took advantage of their last minute special for $50. I will be back there soon.

My husband and I both went in and tried it out — very relaxing and unique. Mark was excellent at explaining everything to us newbies! Very inviting! We will definitely be back.

Float is amazing! Kristie gave me a full tour. The cryo is so cool — especially for anxiety and vagus nerve stimulation. They also have a vibration plate and massage chair. I'll definitely be back.

From the owner

Float Boston is a place anyone should feel welcome

Most wellness centers try to be luxury. Granite counters, white walls, high-pressure sales staff. Not here.

I want Float Boston to be somewhere anyone can come and feel at home. A place where you can afford to take care of yourself without breaking the bank. A place my mom would have been proud that I owned.

Whether you're here for the first time or the hundredth, we're here for you.

— Mark, owner of Float Boston

Questions before your first float

Do I need to bring anything?
Nothing. We have towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, hair dryers, lotion, and more. If you have specific toiletries you prefer, bring those — but you don't need a thing.
Do I need a bathing suit?
Nope. Your room is completely private. Most people float without one — but if you're more comfortable wearing one, that's absolutely fine.
Is the water clean?
Yes — rigorously. The high salt concentration alone prevents anything pathogenic from surviving. We treat with UV light between every client and maintain hydrogen peroxide in the water at all times. The tank is fully filtered 3–4 times between each session.
Will I actually float? What if I'm claustrophobic?
You will absolutely float — 900 lbs of Epsom salt makes it physically impossible not to. If you're concerned about claustrophobia, our Summer Sky tanks have interior lighting you can control and more headroom. Many people with claustrophobia float comfortably here.
Where are you located?
515 Medford Street, Somerville, MA 02145. Easy to reach from Boston, Cambridge, and the surrounding area.
How do I book?
Online through our booking page — takes about 2 minutes. Same-day appointments are often available. Your first float is $50.
