In March of this year, I posted a note from a former employee of Float to Relax, the manufacturers of our home float tank (known as The Space Burrito). The magic of the internet struck again, and this time the founder of Float to Relax himself got in touch.
I found your story while surfing the net. My name is Gary Higgins and I am the founder of Float to Relax.
The floatation tank you acquired was my patented design. Many references have been made as to the list of users. I took F2R public in 1980 with a $2 million dollar underwriting by M.S. Wien brokerage firm in NY City.
FLOAT to RELAX tanks were in use with the Phillies, Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, etc. The agreement between the Cowboys lead to the creation of Sybervision. The Sybervision concept [learning technology] was lead by Dr. J. Kiamia at Stanford University.
Numerous celebrities purchased tanks, at the high point we had over 200 centers worldwide. Remains very popular in Australia, Japan and the UK.
F2R funded nearly all of the med research in countries around the world.
If you check the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer on Super Bowl Sunday XV you’ll see Bill Bergey, running back for the Eagles team, stepping into the tank in New Orleans.
Enjoy your tank,
GARY
Thank you for getting in touch, Gary!
