On June 4, 2026, three competitors will each climb into a private float tank at Float Boston and stay as long as they can — no phones, no music, no distractions. Just them and the silence.

The last person floating wins. Simple as that.

This is a 100% free public competition open to anyone willing to submit a 30-second entry video. We’ll select three finalists on May 18.

Bathroom breaks

One bathroom break allowed every 2 hours. That’s it. Use them wisely.

No tech allowed

No phones, watches, or any devices inside the room. You’re in there with your thoughts.

No music

Tanks will be silent. No ambient sound, no playlists. Total sensory rest.

04

Tank conditions

All three tanks start at 95–95.5°F. Same conditions for everyone.

05

Waiver required

All finalists must sign a safety and media release waiver before competing.

06

Hard stop

The competition ends at 7pm regardless. If all three make it, the last one out wins.

Is this free to enter?
Yes — completely free. There is no cost to submit an entry or to compete as a finalist.
Do I need to have floated before?
Yes — you must have floated at least once at Float Boston to be eligible. You must also be subscribed to our mailing list and follow Float Boston on Facebook. If you haven’t floated yet, book your first float at $50 and then enter.
How do I submit my video?
Use the form above. Upload your 30-second or less video directly. We’ll confirm receipt by email within 48 hours.
What happens on bathroom breaks?
You get one bathroom break every 2 hours. You must return to the tank within a reasonable time. Your clock keeps running.
What if all three people make it the full 10 hours?
If all three competitors make it to the 7pm cutoff, all three receive a 1 float/month membership for one year. The last person to exit the tank wins first place. If all three exit simultaneously at the cutoff, the person who entered the tank last wins.
Will this be filmed?
Yes — we’ll capture pre-event interviews, event day coverage in common areas, and post-float reactions for use on social media and marketing. Your float rooms remain completely private. No filming inside the tanks while you are floating. Finalists must sign a media release waiver.
